Walmer South Nature Conservation Reserve. After the rain last night there was a dramatic change in the ground cover this morning, from dull green and brown to vibrant colour. The numerous Christmas spiders and their webs survived the rains as did this Golden Orb-Weaver. The small spider is the male of the species. Fungi, Mosses and Lichens. Box-Ironbark Experimental Mosaic Burning Project. Histories of fire and burning practices. Over the last few weeks, Muckleford Forest friends have been out doing bird surveys, based on our newly established 2ha 20minute survey areas. Come and join in! August 11, 2017.
Would you like a seed orchard on your property? Seed orchards could provide our Landcare group with seed stock and supply our members with plants for habitat enhancement. I can apply for funding to set up a seed orchard but do need some-one to volunteer a few acres of land for the purpose. In return, you would have a lovely forested area on your land attracting birds and other fauna. Please contact Beth if you are interested.

Ian Higgins launched the guide with a speech that drew on his in-depth knowledge and experience with local regeneration and revegetation. Over 40 people attended the event.
